Corona Virus has no race. It also has no political party - we are in this together.

Corona Virus has no race. It also has no political party - we are in this together. In that spirit, here are some updates from the Board of the League of Women Voters of Orange Coast (COAST), and from the League of Women Voters of California (LWVC).
- From COAST:
We are cancelling all scheduled in-person meetings through the month of May, including our May Board Meeting, Lunch with League, Book Clubs, Clip and Come, and committee meetings. Please check back for updates as we work our way through this new challenge.
Our Annual Meeting is scheduled for May 20 and will not be an in-person event, although we MAY find it possible to hold a virtual Annual meeting on that date. However, we may also elect to postpone it for a later date in order to be fully prepared.
- From the LWVC:
At this time LWVC recommends delaying [Annual Meetings] by one month. This should be authorized by vote of the Board of Directors. We are seeking advice from nonprofit law experts on how to handle things further. As soon as we receive recommendations we will forward them to you.
- And a personal note from Becky:
I know we are all thinking of each other and of those who are ill and those who are still out in public managing things for the rest of us:
- Healthcare workers and scientists and public health workers;
- Police, firefighters, other first responders, those supporting our utilities, and our military;
- Folks working in essential businesses and government offices, postal workers, folks driving trucks and providing deliveries and doing childcare and cleaning and gardening and picking crops and doing construction work; and
- So many more.
Starting soon, there will be work for League as well. Stay well - we miss you.
