Different Methods of Census Self Responding

The census is much more than just a head count. It provides a picture of our nation that helps determine where to build new schools, hospitals, and businesses; how federal funding is distributed; and how congressional seats are apportioned. It also helps us see how our communities have changed over time. That’s why an accurate count is so important. – US Census Bureau

Even before Census Day offically began on April 1st, people have been receiving inviations in the mail to respond to the census online. Fortunately, the coronavirus didn’t interrupt this. However, due to COVID-19, the Census Bureau temporarily suspended 2020 Census field data collection activities in March.

Steps are already being taken to reactivate field offices beginning June 1, 2020, in preparation for the resumption of field data collection operations as quickly as possible following June 1. If someone you know hasn’t completed the census already, please encourage them to do so. In the infographic above you can see the 3 different ways you can respond to the census today!
